Recently our home church, Bismarck Community Church in Bismarck, ND partnered with Jemo Church in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia through Children's Hope Chest. http://www.hopechest.org/community/jemo/sponsor/ This exciting partnership will allow you to sponsor a child from the Jemo area and you will also have the opportunity to travel with our group to meet your sponsored child if you so choose. Highly encourage that opportunity!! And that brings us to these Jemo T-shirts that are now available to purchase.  The T-shirts are in the process of being printed now and will be done shortly and all orders will be mailed out as soon as I have them.  The proceeds to the shirt sales will go towards the upcoming mission trip to Jemo which Kristen and Grant will be on May 11th.  Below you will see a description of the shirts, so read carefully for fitting instructions.  And yes there will be Youth sizes available shortly.

Little More About Jemo:

Jemo Mekane Yesus Congregation was established in 2000 by four Christian families who moved to Jemo in 1996 to start their own church. Jemo Church has grown to nearly 500 members that consist of two ordained ministers and over 50 volunteers who serve the church and the surrounding community. The church congregation and leadership have a good standing relationship the local government and other authorities who are involved in both developmental and community matters in the vicinity.Jemo is located in an overpopulated slum where most of the houses are not conducive to for living. The environment surrounding the Jemo CarePoint is very damaged and corroded due to practices related to mining natural resources. The techniques used to mine these resources include detonating explosives and other harmful methods.

Many of the inhabitants in the area are uneducated and impoverished daily laborers who have no reliable income to support their families. Currently, there are over 200 destitute children in the community. Among these, 60 percent of the children are attending classes at a nearby government school; however many parents and caregivers are unable to afford to send all of their children to school, and as result the cycle of poverty continues. Jemo Church operates as a drop-in center, a safe place where needy children can come for care and support. With your support, the children at Jemo will have the opportunity to grow physically, medically, educationally, spiritually, and emotionally. Your sponsored child will also have the benefit of knowing that someone in the United States cares and prays for them.​
